The journey from harvesting rattan plants, to being handwoven, to finally arriving at your door, is a long one. 

While slow batch production is what makes our products special, it also means our bestselling items aren't always in stock. 

We introduced the pre-order process to help ensure our customers can get the items they want, when they want them.  

We've worked hard on perfecting this process, but there are still many factors out of our control that can affect our timelines. 

Our focus has always been on the pieces of the process we can control, which are to provide as close to accurate timelines as possible, and to communicate any and all updates to our customers as we receive them.

Pre-order FAQs

Why pre-order?

Our pieces are hand-crafted in small batches, which often means limited quantities are available while in stock. Pre-ordering ensures you get your favorite item reserved. It also helps us cut back on waste by only producing the items you want. Products we put on pre-order are either: 
- New product launches
- Bestselling items that have sold out multiple times

When do items go on pre-order?

In most cases, we list items for pre-order once we know the production completion date. This is typically 2-3 months before item's estimated arrival date.

How does it work?

  • The process to order a pre-order item is the same as ordering an in-stock item: simply add to cart and complete your checkout process.
  • All pre-order items are marked clearly with “pre-order” and you'll find the estimated ship date in the product description as well as in your cart. We'll also send you a notification via email as a reminder.
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: Payments for pre-ordered items are charged immediately upon checkout, not when shipped

How long will it take to receive my pre-order?

The average production time for our products is 4-6 weeks. Once completed, ship time from Asia to our warehouse is another 4-6 weeks, but can sometimes take longer if there are weather issues, pandemic safety protocols, reduced loading & receiving staff, or congested ports.

The date listed on your pre-order item is what we have estimated based on recent ship times, and we will always keep you updated of any changes.

Is the ship date guaranteed?

Unfortunately due to recent global shipping delays, the date provided is only an estimation. While we try to get as close to the exact arrival date as possible, external factors such as inclement weather, port congestion, customs delays, reduced receiving teams, and container shortages can cause extensive delays which are out of our control. We’ll share any updates regarding changes with you via email, and on the product page. 

Can I cancel my pre-order?

Yes, you can cancel your pre-order at any time prior to the ship date, and you'll receive a full refund to your original form of payment. Simply send a message to our team at customercare@ellieandbecks.co with your name and order number and we'll take care of it.

*Please note that if you cancel your order when your pre-order has already been shipped or has arrived to you, your refund will be processed less the shipping costs incurred.
